Interior Design

People are always asking me to make their house “flow.”

For most of my clients, the hardest part is visualizing what it will look like when it’s updated and “put together.” Most people struggle with choosing the right size and style of furniture pieces to work with what they already have.

Don’t worry if your imagination isn’t as vivid as mine! I’m great at painting a picture for you through detailed descriptions, floor-plans, and a color palette. Sometimes, I will even tape off the floor so my clients see how big or small their new furniture will be compared to other pieces in the room. I will guide your project with a clear vision of the end result—all while taking care to reflect your personal style.

Your redesign will be an exciting and rewarding experience.

The only regret you’ll have is that you didn’t start it sooner!

Occupied Home Staging

Looking for someone to stage your home to sell?
I understand why a quick turnaround is important. I make sure your home is staged as soon as possible—inside and out!

Successful staging is all about redefining of the space. You’ll need to create as few distractions as possible in order to catch the buyer’s attention!

The houses that sell the fastest are the cleanest and most updated ones—meaning the interior has been freshly painted a neutral color, floors have been refinished or replaced, countertops and faucets are fairly new, and old lighting has been replaced with up-to-date fixtures reflecting the style of the home.

I will create warm, inviting spaces that allow your potential buyer to envision themselves living in your home. Any money you spend on the front end will be recouped in the final sale of your home!

First, I’ll walk through your home room by room and make suggestions of ways we can improve the space together. This might include:

decluttering
updating the carpet
updating countertops and faucets
choosing new paint colors
rearranging the furniture
adding accessories
Sometimes, my clients find it very difficult to declutter and make changes to their home in order to sell it.

I always tell them not to take it personally—your home is now becoming a product to sell on the market, and your potential buyers want to see every inch of the house clearly and quickly.

We also can add current accessories to your home to freshen up your space for MLS pictures and realtor walk-throughs. The rental fee is much less expensive if you were to go and buy these items yourself.

Curb Appeal

Curb appeal is important, too! I’ll make sure the buyer is impressed and feels welcome before they even knock on the front door. Improving your home’s curb appeal might involve:

• choosing a new paint color for the front door

• decluttering the front porch

• pressure washing

• trimming shrubs

Accessory Stage Only for Vacant Homes

If you have a vacant home, I can highlight its great features with up-to-date accessories. This will captivate your potential buyers and spark their interest by allowing them to envision themselves living there.

Features most commonly enhanced:

  • Fireplace Mantel
  • Kitchen and Bathroom Countertops
  • Master Bathtub
  • Large Closets

About

Meet Michelle

I love what I do! Working in the ever-changing field of interior design allows me to fulfill my God-given passion.

I was only a teenager when I started rearranging our house.

I would move all the accessories around, and I even rearranged the furniture pieces. And when I was finished, I moved on to my grandmother’s house! I just had this vision—I could see how the space would be less cluttered and more balanced if I got rid of this table and moved this sofa over and switched those two photographs on the wall. I didn’t know I was creative or artistic until I started actually changing the way things looked.

Then, I decided to take interior design classes at night school while I was working a sales job in Toronto. After moving to Ohio, my first job was working in a furniture store called Sylvia Potter. I did everything from painting the plastered walls of the store to helping clients choose fabrics for their slipcovered furniture. I sold beds, tables, lamps, and accessories, and I learned what looks great together (and what doesn’t). Eventually, I developed personal relationships with my clients and started making house calls to help fulfill their design and decorating needs.

2011, I added my designation as a professional home stager to my repertoire.

Over the years, I have been blessed to work with realtors, national builders, professional designers, and home stagers, all while constantly learning and gaining more market expertise.

I love hearing my clients describe their personal design dreams and then making them become a reality. There’s nothing more fulfilling!

I recently finished a redesign project for a client that I have been working on for a year. He was a dream client and loved what I was doing every step of the way, encouraging me to keep going. When it was completed and I sent him the professional photos, he said, “Is that really my house?” I felt so accomplished and rewarded for my work because he was so happy.

Are you ready to say, “Is that really my house?” I would be grateful and honored to help you get excited about the space you live in!
